List of academic tutors Y.A. 2025-2026

The University of Siena is characterised by a favourable staff-to-student ratio, which allows for a tailored tutoring service through the establishment of the role of the Academic Tutor. Every new student is assigned a tutor upon enrolment, whose responsibility is to guide, support, and facilitate their full integration into the learning process.

Personalised tutoring involves teaching staff from each degree programme, identified by their respective Heads of Department.

Students are encouraged to contact their designated tutors.

Other Tutoring Options Offered by the Department

Tutoring services are also provided by:

  • Student tutors: senior students enrolled in Master's or PhD programmes who support academic staff by helping new students integrate into university life, assisting with welcome activities, office hours, and general support.
  • Teaching staff from the Teaching Committees of their respective courses.
  • Teaching staff from the Department's Orientation and Tutoring Committee.

   Regulatory Aspects

Tutoring activities are recognised as part of the curriculum and are enshrined in Article 13 of Law 341/90 ("Tutoring"), Ministerial Decrees 509/99 and 207/2004, the University's Academic Regulations, and specifically Article 37 ("Teaching Duties of Academic Staff").
