Activities:
The several activities, partially funded by numerous national and international projects, are described below:

- remote sensing, earth observation and radar systems;

- transmission and multimedia processing

- wireless and mobile communication systems  

- video-surveillance, security and monitoring systems

- design and development of network services

- interactive systems for digital terrestrial television

- info-mobility

- multimedia design for cultural heritage

- image and signal processing for bio-technologies and bio-medicine

- automatic identification systems and wireless sensor networks 

- digital watermarking and steganography

 
Equipments:
The lab is equipped with modern equipment for advanced design and development in different areas of telecommunications.
A few examples are
  • a complete system for the development of interactive services for digital terrestrial television,
  • a HW/Sw system for psico-visual testing,
  • a full-functioning Voice over IP (VoIP) system for the development of
    unified communications,
  • a distributed platform for remote monitoring and info-mobility,
  • servers with computational resources dedicated to artificial intelligence applications, including one server Rack, with 6 Nvidia RTX A5000 GPUs expressly designed to ensure good performance for AI applications.

There are also advanced hardware and software equipments for the design of wireless networks and for their performance studies.
