Seminar: Research in Bio Mechatronics at Air University, Pakistan

Mercoledì, 14 Dicembre, 2016 - 11:00

 room R305

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of engineering in which control of devices or processes are learnt to be designed  and implemented using knowledge of mechanical, electronics and computer science. Application of this in medical is called  Biomechatronics. In Department of Mechatronics at Air University experts in sub fields of biomechatronics are working on Rehabilitation and assistive systems projects. Their specialization areas include  design, modeling, control and implementation of Nonlinear and artificial intelligence, vision , BCI and MEMS. A combination of these expertise is proving very beneficial in growing  of research in the medical area.

Brief biografy: Prof. Zareena Kausar is currently the Head of Department of Mechatronics at Air University, Pakistan. She received her BS Mechanical Engineering and MS Mechatronics Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Pakistan before going on to get her PhD from University of Auckland, New Zealand. With over 25 years of experience in her field, she has a particular interest in research involving design, modeling and control of bio-mechatronic systems and devices. Her current projects include the development of prostheses, powered exoskeletons and assistive robots.
